Questions
How wide is a 24 inch monitor?
The screen is about 20.9 inches (53 cm) wide. The bezel and stand add a little, so check the spec sheet for the full width.
What does the screen size number mean?
It is the diagonal measurement of the visible display, corner to corner. Width and height depend on the aspect ratio, so two screens with the same diagonal can have different shapes.
Is a 34 inch ultrawide bigger than a 27 inch monitor?
It is wider but not much taller. A 34 inch 21:9 panel is about 31.4 inches wide and 13.4 inches tall, while a 27 inch 16:9 is about 23.5 by 13.2 inches. Add both and use Overlay to see it.
How big a TV do I need?
It depends on viewing distance. A common rule of thumb is to sit about 1.2 to 1.6 times the diagonal away from the screen for 4K. Use the width shown here to check the space on your wall or unit.
Are the sizes exact?
Diagonals are the manufacturer’s published figures, rounded. Real width and height are calculated from the diagonal and aspect ratio, so expect small differences of a few millimetres.
